Our edge-coil resistors are divided into two main groups:
GROUP 1: Namely ‘E’ Type 60mm (2 3/8”) diameter, which are subdivided into E Type Standard, ES, ET, EB, and EP types. There are 15 different current ratings from 12 to 100 Amps and max. 9 physical sizes for each type.
Each type can be supplied with or without mounting feet. The standard E Type is most suited for grouping them into banks where the fixing arrangements allow removal of an individual element without disturbing the adjacent elements. All resistors within this group can be supplied with movable terminals or fixed intermediate tapping terminals.
GROUP 2: Subdivided into ‘HD’ (Heavy Duty) and ‘MD’ (Medium Duty) 100mm (4”) diameter power resistors.
The HD range, more commonly used in traction and power generation industry have 5 different current rating from 100 to 200 Amps with 4 different physical sizes.
The MD range, most suited for high power load testing have 6 different current rating from 40 to 100 Amps with 2 different physical sizes. Mounting feet can be supplied for individual MD range resistors. All resistors within this group can be supplied with fixed intermediate tapping terminals.
